The MAX1501ETE+ is a highly integrated linear battery charger IC designed to support multi-chemistry cells, including single-cell lithium-ion (Li+) and 1 to 3 cell NiMH/NiCd batteries. Featuring programmable constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging, automatic charge termination, and built-in thermal regulation, the device simplifies charger designs for portable applications. Proprietary thermal-regulation circuitry limits chip temperature during fast charge or high ambient conditions, enabling maximum charge current without damage. The device continues to provide a regulated output voltage even without a battery, allowing seamless system operation and battery replacement.
