LIS3DHTR

Three-axis digital-output accelerometer built on ST MEMS technology with I²C/SPI interface, selectable ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g full scales, 1.71–3.6 V supply range, embedded FIFO, dual interrupt generators, and temperature sensor, delivering ultra-low-power operation with output data rates from 1 Hz to 5.3 kHz for orientation, vibration monitoring, and motion sensing in portable devices.

Product Overview

The LIS3DHTR is the tape-and-reel ordering code of STMicroelectronics’ LIS3DH “nano” family three-axis linear accelerometer, featuring a capacitive MEMS sensing element and 16-bit digital outputs accessible through I²C or SPI serial interfaces. It offers user-selectable full scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g and output data rates from 1 Hz up to 5.3 kHz, combined with embedded high-pass and low-pass filters to cover both low-frequency tilt sensing and higher-frequency vibration measurements.

With a 32-level FIFO buffer, two programmable interrupt generators, self-test, and an embedded temperature sensor, the LIS3DHTR supports free-fall, motion/stillness, 6D/4D orientation, threshold, and single/double-tap detection in ultra-low-power modes, significantly offloading the host MCU and reducing overall system power. Packaged in a 3 × 3 × 1.0 mm LGA-16 outline, it operates from 1.71 to 3.6 V over –40°C to +85°C, making it well suited for smartphones, wearables, IoT nodes, and industrial equipment vibration and orientation monitoring.
